Course Description
Geometry is designed to develop the mathematical concepts of reasoning, measuring and application. Topics covered include: basics of geometry, reasoning and proof, perpendicular and parallel lines, congruent triangles, properties of triangles, quadrilaterals, transformations, similarity, right triangles, trigonometry, circles, polygons, surface area and volume. Throughout this course students will be exposed to the Pythagorean Theorem, bisectors, and inductive reasoning.
Supplies Needed
Internet access and a device (cell phone, iPad, laptop, etc.) that can be used to access Google Classroom on a daily basis, earbuds/headphones, Scientific Calculator, 1.5” 3-ring binder, notebook paper, package of file tab dividers, two 8.5 x 11 Mead 5 Star 1 subject spiral bound notebooks, red pens, pencils, and graph paper. Supplies are expected to be brought to each class and all must be purchased by the end of the first week of school. Students should have access to scissors, compasses, rulers and protractors at home.
